Before the next ride, choose the left, right, or front cargo-box rail to suit your load, mount the holder, and secure the spare vertically tight against the box. You get a defined place for the tire without drilling or cutting the cargo bed. It still occupies space inside the box, so plan around your other gear rather than expecting an exterior tire carrier.
